Yeah thats why the pvp is friendly it is easy to get away in one on one scenrios. Although the higher you get the more drawn out the fight can be. I had a quick go this morning and a barbarian stunned me then fatality chopped my head off. I was like shit i never even got a chance to swing.

PvP differs if you're the attacker or the victim I guess. You have a massive advantage if you're the attacker. One of my attacks goes something like -

- Sneak up on someone (hidden)
- Stealth strike (just a regular hit, but you get bonus for coming from hidden)
- Clobber (This knocks them over, usually before they've realised what's going on)
- Special (any kind of special before they get back up)
- Stunning punch (this stuns them, again, stopping them from escaping, or even touching me)
- Another Special

By this time, they're usually at least at half health and I'm untouched. I did this to a lvl 45 (I was 42) yesterday and as soon as he could finally run, he jumped of the roof. This damaged him more and he couldn't run properly, so I pulled out my bow to finish him off from up there

If I get attacked, I usually try and knockback or stun them as soon as possible, just to give myself a second to think. Oh, and have a heal potion bound to something, hit that as soon as you're attacked. Mine last for 60 seconds, so no point starting it when I get low health, I'll be dead before it's done anything! (Although I don't get the math - Heal = 240 - 40 every second - last 60 seconds. Isn't that 2,400, not 240?)

I have a character on your server now guys. Although i'm a very slow leveler at the moment due to in-game time. Enjoying it still though! My character is Khanuk and i'm an assassin (isn't everyone ).

What is everyones main characters called?

Thanks.

There's a Gamespy review here, which hit the nail on the head for me -

Quote:
There's a growing concern, however, about the diminishing lack of quality in PvE content around level 50 or so. Common complaints include quests drying up, forcing players to grind through endless monsters in order to advance, and dungeons becoming less interesting and more slapdash (something we're already seeing in the late 30's), with the largest ones bugged into practical uselessness. This isn't as much of an issue on a PvP server, where content just gets in the way of the endless bloodbath, but at the moment, a compelling story-driven PvE leveling path to the level cap of 80 isn't something you're going to find in Age of Conan.
I'm at level 44, I've had to run for something like 6 or 7 minutes to get to the field of the dead to gain the last 2 levels, but I've pretty much done all the quests I can there now. This area says 40-50 I think... so maybe a few more quests will open up as I level up more, but it's nothing like Kopshef Provence for example, where I felt like I generally had 6 or 7 quests going on at the same time. If I had to run far down into the corner of the map, I didn't mind so much as I could do 3 or 4 quests on the way. Now I'm running back and forth for just the one quest

When I next go back in, I'll double check and hopefully there's another area for 40's that I can go and quest in, then perhaps come back to see if more have opened up. But, right now one of my biggest issues with MMO is rearing its head, running about the place looking for things to do. Bring back UO where you just recall places in a matter of seconds!

Luckily, as we're on a PvP server, I'm still entertained by some great fights. I got beat by a level 43 Bear Shaman, but then pushed a 48 Conqueror to the limits in a 2 minute long battle

Yep it has completely ruined the game for me at 53 and i can not do any quests i have to grind for a few levels to do some thing. Yes I expect lots of broken quests and problems with the newness of the game but to have gaps in the pve grind this big is very bad of funcom.

At 40- 60 there is Noble district, caves, tomb, fields of dead, epiloth mountains, cistern and the system. That is no where near enough for the 20 levels you need.

Well yeah, as I say, I think I've cleaned out the Noble District and Fields of Dead... and I'm still only level 44

Eeek.. im only lvl 35 and im noticing that I seem to be running around more endlessly now.

Will do a bunch of quests then I might get 1 follow up to go all the way to the other end of the map then come back (gotten into the habit of drowning myself or cratering to save running time). Getting quite irritating so im well pleased ive got more of the same to look forward to.

Is there any trial/guest pass things for AoC yet or are there any planned? It Looks really good but i aint paying 25 for another MMO only to get bored of it within a few days and bugger off back to WoW. Already had that experience when i bought City of Heroes
