Ah, yes - re-reading the article it does say it's when heading to the deck, not on the ground itself, so hopefully that will be the case.

It's also realistic that a prone person has a limited field of fire - 45degrees on either side of the center makes sense, though I wonder how close it is to reality. I would imagine that 45 degrees is rather generous.

my bad

I was lucky enough to be involved in the recent alpha, It's shaping up very nicely.

Lots of bugs and and weapon balancing issues to sort out but I am so hyped for this game.

Cof LAN at andys when this bad boy is out?

I don't know if I'll be joining you, see below:
Battlefield 3 limited to one profile per player,

Retail Battlefield 3 copies won't work without Origin,
http://www.destructoid.com/retail-ba...n-208619.phtml

Retailer confirms no Steam release for Battlefield 3,
http://www.destructoid.com/retailer-...3-206337.phtml
(details: http://www.destructoid.com/here-s-th...m-208126.phtml)

In general I just don't feel that EA deserve my money. No doubt they will make loads of money any way - especially since the console players will be getting their parents to pay for it - but unless these stories are proven false, or EA changes their minds, the hard work of the developers will be wasted as far as I am concerned.

It would of course be a good thing, long term, if all gamers chose not to buy it until EA sorted themselves out, but I will leave others to make up their own minds.

(on which they will not allow dissing of their games I suspect)

Also I feel sorry for DICE, their games deserves better

Hmm, this might be a tricky decision then. We'll see as the time comes.

To an extent I agree with you Gamith, but as Battlefield is the only game I play really, I might not be able to resist.

Well the DLC link is a bit old and has been replied to by dice. The back to karkand dlc is free if you pre order or you have to pay for it later on. Which I can't see an issue in it's your choice to take advantage or not and the weapon unlocks are just early unlocks so if you don't preorder you will have to unlock as you play through the game. Again your choice to take advantage.

The battlelog was used in the alpha and it was pretty good. Also each wanted to release on steam but steam changed its t&cs about something so ea had to pull it. It will still be available on a loads of digital download sites.

I wonder what will happen at a LAN when many people try logging in from the same IP address.
Or the players internet link goes down,
Or you want to sell the game (which you can't do on Steam either - which I hate),
Or you try to use your account to play the game on someone elses' PC.

The way that DRM is being shoved on top of everything it makes trying to do things honestly an absolute chore.

Still - at least I'm not paying 40 or 50 for an inferior console experience, so at least I have that to be happy about, though I suspect that may be why publishers hate PC's so much.

Yep looking good alright:
Battlefield 3 has no in-game browser server on PC:

I find myself getting really bitter over EA.

Hmm, not a deal breaker for me to be honest. Yes, in game is probably easier, but from a browser isn't too hard to do.

So I started my Beta last night. The graphics are amazing. It is defiantly Battlefield.

But they way you connect is weird. Firstly Origin, We have been spoilt for a number of years with steam it was bound to happen with big publishers bringing out there own client. Origin is okay not steam but it works. When you hit play on BF3 it launches a browser with everything on there. Friends lists, stream, co-op, multiplayer. It is like facebook for BF3 and I love it. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...ats/351404547/

Overall I can see this game being what I play for a long time. But I need a new graphics card. my 4870 isn't bad but I can see a few glitches that a better card would handle better. SO time to switch to Nvidia.
