Hmm, thinking of picking it up just because Infinity Ward made it (not the entire studio I know).

i purchased it this morning, i considered downloading it but decided as i have loved the last two Modern Warfare single player campaigns, that I would buy this one as well. Will be giving the game a whirl later... Dunno if ill be bothering with multiplayer.

I imagine the single player will see me through to Friday when Skyrim finally gets released.

Had to laugh last night was on a TS with a bunch of guys from 1para. They were loading up COD MW3 for the first time after a week of BF3. Comments were

Graphics are shit.
Control system is retarded.
OMG not destroyable buildings.
How shit you can not play hardcore till lvl20
Yep the game is built for consolers no respect for PC gamers and still hosted games no dedicated.

Suffice to say most of them last 10mins and reloaded BF3 and had a laugh. I am not buying it.

And deviant 30 for a very short single player seems a con.

I have to say I agree.. single player took me 5 hours to complete... For me the best part of this game is the spec ops co-op missions. If my brother gets it or i find someone to play with that is.

I enjoyed the single player game, last week i bought an xbox 360 then decided to return it for a refund as an uneccessary expense and bought MW3 instead. I really just wanted it to give me something to play while waiting for skyrims release. It suceeded in that, I enjoyed it for three days and am now playign skyrim.

But i do agree it is expensive for such a short campaign especially as i doubt i will play multiplayer that much if at all. But then again I paid 40 for Battlefield 3, chipped in for the server 10 and have played that for maybe 90 minutes and never gone back to it.

Out of the two I have got more value from MW3 so far. For some reason I just have not had any interest in playing Battlefield 3.. I dont know exactly why but it is probably the single player... I use most games singleplayer to get into the game then move onto multiplayer, i did this with bad company 2 as well. But with Battlefield 3 the singleplayer is so boringly tediously crap that i cant bring myself to finish it, which i guess has made me less inclined to play the multiplayer aspect.

Yeah I lasted 5 mins in the single player for bf3 but not many games I buy for single player, these days.

I'm still not sold on MW3 like I was with MW2 and that's because of the developers involved have made some god awful attempts at games so I don't hold out hope for it at all.

Is it worth picking up new or waiting until a steam offer or something?

Multiplayer holds no interest to me at all, the co-op mode is awesome if you have a friend to play with. The singleplayer is great but lasts barely 5 hours even on the harder difficulties.

I recon you should wait for a steam offer then enjoy the singleplayer and co-op. Though call of duty games hardly ever go on special in the first year so you may be waiting awhile... The best option is to keep an eye on play and amazon and buy it off them on the cheap.

Co-op in BF3 is great as well including it has sniper level and helicopter level. Glad to see MW3 has been panned by every honest critic out there.

I love both games but BF3 is much better, hands down. MW3 is a rehash unfortunately, SP had a great story, about it really.
