Default Practice

Practice is on tonight and i will be running it.

What we are going to aim to practice tonight is:
  • pistol practice using glock and USP ONLY
  • awp practice.

The aim of the awp practice is so that anyone can pickup an awp in a match and be able to vaugely use it when required. The practice will take the form of both teams using nothing but awp/pistols.

i was chatting to lee about it just now.

the awp practice is just for basic skills work, and trying to improve speed.

the pistol round was good and appropriate, but the awping part was just not. how many times in a match can all 10 players afford an awp? why are we practicing on a map we dont play, if we gonna practice awping why not on dust2 or prodigy? it was a waste of time, and a pointless exercise. all that was happening was people trying to make the point unlimited weapons suck, which isnt the case. 5 on 5 awps suck, but 2 awps and an auto, and 2 m4's for example might be fun. total balls up

I can see how people got frustrated with this. Aztec with AWP? It's murder.

Why were people kniving people when (a) it was pistol and AWP ONLY?! and (b) We don't knive in matches
I thought the whole point was practise with AWP and pistols therefore kill with them. If you'd have said we could knife I would have done.
Next time make that bit clearer please.

Personally, during the pistol rounds, i found that i was running out of ammo as CT and i deemed i was close enough to try and knife instead of trying to reload. I ended up in this situation atleast twice, and only as CT.

It is what i saw a couple of other people ending up doing as well.

Going straight for a knife, no no. However, as has always been said, the knife is there if needed.

So, we basically gave 'everyone' an AWP and thought this would be good AWP practise? Erm, sorry, thats just stupid. For one thing, whoever you're shooting at is going to have an AWP so they will be barely moving if not stationary... what practise is that... just shoot some cans instead

Don't we have some specifiec drills for people to practise AWP's?

I thought we did, perhaps we need to think of a few more? But holing guys with AWM*s up in corners with a AK/M4 guy as cover then throwing small groups at them was certainly 1 thing I rememebr being used as a training strategy.

*it's an Artic Warfare Magnum not a Pistol, Peeshooter, Pisshole or whatever the fuck everyone thinks the P stands for

well i thought it would be fun obviously everyone seems to have there knickers in a twist over what i thought was a fun clan. must have been mistaken. frankly I look at tuesdays to have a match amongst ourselves and try to get a little better. But not taking it to seriously. If you wanna change that fine let me know so i can hang my hat.

That's what I'm saying. I don't really see how we gain anything from that? I can't imagine it was all that much fun?

Also, Tuesdays practise was the one time I thought we did make attempts to improve ourselves. It is just once a week after all. Usually people do quite like the drills anyway.
