Question Who Has The Best Backfield?

I was posing the question 'do the Saints have the best backfield in the NFL?'

With Pierre Thomas, Sproles, Ingram and Ivory, that's a pretty amazing backfield.

Pete wondered if the Panther's was better?

What do you think?

A few more sets:

Houston: Foster, Tate (no idea who #3 is)
Buffalo: Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller (again no idea whose #3)
Chicago: Forte, Bush
San Fran: Gore, Jacobs, Hunter (when/if they are all ever healthy).

And lets not forget the Jets... haha, only joking!

It's an interesting question, really and there are a lot of good backfields around the NFL

I think Aden's been smoking something today...

I would say most of those have two great backs and a reasonable third. The Saints have 4 backs that you could almost pick any two and they could start for most teams. Well, 3 great backs and a reasonable 4th anyway.

The question I have about the Saints runners, is are they actually that good? I mean, Sproles is awesome, we all saw what he could do in SD, but are the others made to look better than they are because opponents are always concentrating on Brees and the Saints passing attack?

This is actually a legitimate question, as I'm sure having played you'd know better than me, I assume players can be made to look better than they are owing to the situation they're in... It'd be interesting if Pierre Thomas for example left for another team to see how good he actually is.

Look at some of his runs this week. It was one of them that made me pose the question. He's fast, agile and will run through tackles too. I guess I was surprised myself on how well he was running.

Yes, a lot of backs take advantage of good blocking schemes, I look for the raw talent I see in the back himself. That's why I'm not a fan of maybe someone like Peyton Hillis or maybe even Arian Foster, as I might not have seen exactly what they themselves do (as I've perhaps not really watched them play much), where as LeSean McCoy, I've seen his raw physical ability when watching him in games.
